Biography:
Spartan G-013 was born in 2535, on Actinum. He was first surveyed by ONI in 2539, for conscription into the Spartan III Beta company, but was however, unable to meet the standards. He was too young and although he was gifted with extraordinary physical strength, speed and reaction time, and had the genes that should be meant for Spartan II candidates, he severely lacked the superior intellect, and was dropped from the selection.
He was reconsidered, in 2545, after he watched Actinum, his home-world, fall to the Covenant, and watched it glassed from orbit, and he left behind his friends and family. He swore revenge against the Covenant Empire, and quickly accepted the invitation from ONI to join the Spartan III Gamma Company. He was transported, along with the rest of the Gamma Company Candidates to Onyx, where Gamma company would be trained. He was not a natural born leader, and just about managed average grades in his studies. Average for a spartan, however, he was mocked by his peers for his inadequacies and his odd, silent behavior. In physical training, and drills, he impressed and surprised his superiors and drill instructors, showing extreme determination, and endurance, going through the toughest and most brutal training and punishment, and surpassing his peers, even with a smirk on his face. He always strived for victory, never giving up until the job was done, be it a simple exercise, or a drill, or a war game. It became evident to Chief Mendez and Kurt-051 that he was truly and extraordinary spartan, and although G-013 was one of the 30 spartans Kurt-051 would have cut from Gamma, he reconsidered, seeing as G-013 had proven himself worthy of becoming a Spartan
After Augmentations in 2551, Spartan G-013 was sent on a mission along with several of Gamma Company's Spartan-IIIs to an asteroid-turned-Covenant shipyard on the edge of UNSC controlled space, with orders to wipe out all Covenant Forces, and secure the NAV-Database from the nearby abandoned UNSC Frigate. Him and his team were equipped with modified SPI armour, almost akin to the variant the Headhunters wore. The mission was a success, with only a single casualty and his team escaped the explosion of a near by factory by submerging themselves in a lake of coolant.
However, exfiltration was not possible, as they had been tracked by a Sangheili Spec-Ops team, and a Covenant strike team, accompanied by a corvette, shot their Prowler-class exfiltration vehicles down. The Elites mercilessly slaughtered all but G-013, who waited in the wreckage of their Black Cat Prowler class exfiltration ships while cloaked in active camoflage, not knowing whether he was waiting to kill the elites, or waiting to die. He miraculously survived the mission, and hijacked a covenant drop-ship and escaped the asteroid, heading deeper to UNSC space. He cursed himself for letting his team die, and thought himself unworthy of being a Gamma Company Spartan.
From then on, he went under the Call-sign Delta, after the cancelled Delta Company Spartan III Project. He even lists himself as Spartan D-013 on some operations with UNSC forces. He became a phantom, dead to the rest of the UNSC, fighting the Covenant with little to no support from the UNSC, and having to live, work and fight as a scavenger, finding and modifying materiel, and scavenging his Mark V and VI Armor, alongside the rest of his equipment from overrun or abandoned UNSC bases, and stealing back ships, weapons and equipment from insurrectionists. The incident from his original team's ill-fated operation turned him from an energetic but silent, new Spartan, to a true warrior, inadvertently becoming a leader through assisting UNSC forces from far, extremely skilled in stealth, close quarters combat and marksmanship. He's honed his physical abilities to the point of being called a shadow or a blur by UNSC forces, due to his speed, which at times, rivaled Kelly-087.
Extra Notes
Spartan G-013 has a tendency to rarely remove his armor, or his helmet, even in the presence of others or while speaking
G-013 carries a red energy sword that he retrieved from a Spec-ops Sangheili from when he hijacked a covenant drop-ship after witnessing the death of his fellow spartans. Along with his preference to having the call-sign "Delta" or being listed on mission rosters as D-013, these are reminders to him of what he had lost. The energy sword his stored in a thigh compartment on his armor.
It is unknown how or why exactly Spartan G-013 was promoted to Lieutenant Commander. It is assumed he was promoted in the field by higher ranking UNSC officers
It is to be noted that Spartan G-013 is unusually quiet, even for a spartan, and even before he joined Gamma Company. He rarely tells anyone, be it commissioned UNSC personnel, or civilians, his real name.
When he was last spotted, he was described by UNSC Forces as a spartan, clad in gray, black and red heavily modified MJOLNIR armor, whose only discernible features were the Mark VI helmet, and MJOLNIR/R variant right shoulder. He was also described as standing at around 7'4, with a deep red face plate/visor
